2023 UCI Track Champions League
With this being an exhibition style event it is understandable that most of the new Olympic tech is kept locked up in readiness for Paris. Riders are generally using similar equipment from the World Championships in Glasgow with the exception of wheels that are being swapped out for personal wheels instead of the team issue options, for example the Dutch riders occasionally use FFWD Wheels or Corima/Campagnolo options instead of their custom PRO Shimano wheels. Another example is the German riders using the budget Hauer wheels instead of their FES options. Tyres are also downgraded from top of the range options like the Vittoria Pista Oro to the Vittoria Pista Speed.
ALE clothing is supplied to all riders as part of the sponsorship agreement for the event, so in addition to the questionable skinsuits (confusing designs and low cut transparent back) riders are using ALE aerodynamic socks and shoe covers.
Despite being a UCI event it is not a UCI ranking event so this was perhaps the reason that numerous riders could be seen wearing CGM devices, illegal in a normal UCI event.
