Description

There is only one word to describe Bont's T-One Track Cycling Shoes, and that is amazing! Each pair of Bont Track Shoes are handmade by Bont in order to guarantee a higher quality shoe meaning Bont take the whole concept of cycling shoes to another level.

As experienced Track Cyclists all our staff have been through our fair share of shoes and we can't actually think of any brand we have not tried. Shoes by manufacturers such as Sidi, Nike and even the low cost Taiwanese outfit Exustar have their benefits for Track Cycling but quite simply nothing can compare with anything that Bont produce.

Incredibly light and stiffer than the majority of carbon products, let alone shoes, every pair of Bont T-One Track Cycling shoes are carefully hand built by Bont's specialist manufacturers in Australia.

Unlike other handmade shoes, Bont make their shoes inside out, in a process that is far more skill intensive, time consuming and thus resulting in far greater costs than the current mainstream shoe construction methods, but one that allows the Bont range of cycling shoes to lead the market in performance.

The Bont production line has been engineered by founder Inze Bont to allow for our monocoque shoes to be hand made in the most time efficient manner possible. This is a process which continues to be developed and refined.

Inadequate processes such as using generic vacuum boxes for curing the carbon have been replaced by methods such as pressure wrapping which provides four atmospheres of pressure rather than the traditional one atmosphere from vacuum forming. Bont's drive for design innovation is matched by its innovation in manufacturing processes.

Most shoes use a pre made base and a pre made upper and the two parts are glued together. The result is a shoe that feels like it was made in two parts. Bont makes their shoes from the inside out. Everything is laminated together by the epoxy resin so it forms a monocoque.

They start with the last (plastic foot) which has been crafted by a combination of the latest technology and over 35 years of experience. Then using data from 20,000 laser foot scans to develop a standard last, this was then merged that with Mr. Inze Bont's 35 years of making custom speed skate/performance footwear and the ongoing feedback received from professional riders. The result is one of the finest cycling shoe last created.

The lower side of the shoe is a best described as being shaped like a bathtub as opposed the normal flat plate soles. This offers a thicker (3.6mm) and more rigid base to the shoe and gives your whole foot more support, which in turn leads to a more efficient pedal action that prevents Power you output being lost. Track-one is fitted with high density memory foam with dry cell technology to ensure mimimum water retention in wet conditions.

Regardless of what you can output in terms of watts if your shoes have too much foam padding inside, are not done up tight enough or lack a stiff sole, power can be lost through your shoes, meaning you are wasting valuable power and energy.

Bont T-One Track Cycling shoes will provide you with the stiffest and tightest shoes you can ever own, ensuring that every watt you output is used to propel you forward instead of getting lost in the process.

Feet Measurements

Due to the Bont Shoes being handmade we advise that you ensure you have selected the correct size by completing this step due to the requirement of high level shoes to accurately fit. For a guide to measuring your feet click here (please note you need to email not fax the forms) - Measurement Guide

For a downloadable form to measure your measure on click here - Measurement Form

Measure your feet following these guidelines then select the appropriate size from the above size chart and order the shoes you want via the website, please then email the drawing to us stating your name and order number.

Heat Moulding

This cycling shoe is the most heat moldable shoe on the market today. Bont's resin is developed in house and has been perfected over 36 years to be an extremely stiff resin that becomes pliable at relatively low temperatures.

The base of the shoe is moldable which means all stiff areas of the shoe can be molded in a standard oven. You do not need to mold your shoes if they fit you straight out of the box.

To mold your shoes, remove any cleats, laces or cleat mounting screws and innersole before molding. Failure to remove the innersole can result in it becoming deformed by the heat.

Pre heat the oven to 70C/160F. Place the shoe in the oven for 20 minutes. Higher temperatures will void your warranty and may damage your boot. Caution: Do not place your feet in the hot shoes or you may burn your feet. Let them cool a little and test the shoe temperature with your hand before placing your feet in the shoes. Tighten the straps and allow to cool. If you have any lumps or bunions on your feet or if there are any areas causing discomfort, while the shoe is hot you can use the round end of a screwdriver to press out any part of the boot. You can heat mold the shoes as many times as you like.

Medial Longitudinal Arch Support

Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided in all models to stop over pronation of feet. Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedaling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain.

Anatomical Forefoot Shape

Conventional cycling shoes offer a dress shoe┬Ł type shaping. Although highly aesthetic this will cause the toes along with the metatarsals to be overly constricted, compressing the nerves between the metatarsals which often results in the common "hot foot" sensation. Bont cycling shoes anatomical shaping allows the foot to function in its most efficient and anatomically correct position. The foot is supported in its endeavour to relax through the metatarsal joints allowing the pedalling force to be spread across the greatest possible surface area.

Anatomical Heel Cup

The anatomical heel cup shaping of Bont cycling shoes provides increased stability during the pull through stage of pedaling stroke and up stroke. This stabilization is achieved without any mechanical operation of over tightening of straps/laces allowing for increased comfort and blood circulation.

Lateral Forefoot Support

Bont's lateral forefoot support ensures neutral positioning of the forefoot and alleviates common issues associated with over pronation and supination. These issues often result in incorrect tracking of knees causing injuries along with hip and lower back pain.

Strap & Lace Closure

Closure is achieved via Bont's non-slip lace and velcro strap combination.

Cleat Micro Grid

The cleat micro grid has been included to provide riders with the ability to fine tune their cleat placement.
