Velodrome Shop Event Calendar

Winter has arrived in Queensland, Australia so acclaimed Australian Coaches "Repsych Cycling Development" and British company "Velodromeshop.net" are proud to announce the start of the 2014 Winter Track Racing Series.

The racing is aimed at all track riders from junior to masters levels who would like to race in a variety of events on the track.



The racing will start at 7:30pm on Friday night the 16th of May and will be held fortnightly for a series of 10 races.

World & Commonwealth Track Champion and Repsych Head Coach Kerrie Meares says "The event will provide an excellent opportunity to re-establish and kick start track racing in Queensland. The racing will give riders much needed experience in practicing training skills and tactics ahead of the 2014 track season" 

Whilst Queensland has produced some excellent track riders over the years, the hype of track racing isn't there at the moment so Velodromeshop.net and Repsych got together with the aim of putting that excitement back into the sport.

Repsych Assistant Coach Ky Lane has some strong aims of the racing series. "The old days of racing used to bring huge crowds, and we want to put Queensland back on the track map. There will be equal prize money for racers and we hope to draw good crowds and numbers to the event. We need to put our riders back on National podiums so we need to expose them to better competition and racing opportunities.".

Starting May 16th, we will be running Friday night racing every fortnight for 10 rounds from 7:30pm at Brisbane's Chandler Velodrome.

A mixture of sprint and endurance events with equal prize money for Mens A/B/C - Womens A/B and a combined Juniors grade.

$30 entry for seniors, and $20 for juniors on the night.

We will announce the mixed bag of different events for the sprinters and enduros on the night - so be prepared for some fun racing!



We're planning some exciting charity races later in the series with some "special guests" from afar.

The guys from Brew (www.brewgroup.com.au) will be at the velodrome with good food, coffee and drink.

Emily Rosemond - Director/Partner
Emily looks after the management and operations of Repsych. She brings Olympic, World, Oceanic and National Level experience and has a passion for assisting everyone who has a keen interest in cycling and sports. Emily holds National Coaching Accreditations (NCAS), as well as a Communications-Law degree, Personal Training, Strength & Conditioning and Fitness Australia certifications. Emily also works as the State Development Officer for Cycling Queensland. She is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

Kerrie Meares - Coach/Partner
Kerrie heads the coaching department for Repsych. As a previous World and Commonwealth Games Champion, Kerrie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. She specialises in tactic and sprint training models, but also leads the corporate events sector running team building days and skills development activities in various locations. Kerries qualifications include National Coaching Accreditations (NCAS), Personal Training Qualifications and a large public speaking portfolio. She is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

Ky Lane - Coach
Ky has been racing for over 20 years on road, track and now on the dirt. As an ultra-endurance MTB'er, he has competed in dozens of 24 and 12 hour endurance events. With half of your energy lost on inefficient techniques on the bike, Ky can get you smooth and fast. Ky is a certified MTB skills instructor with AMBIA, and will soon hold a level 1 in MTB coaching from Cycling Australia

All Repsych Training plans are fully customizable and vary slightly across all packages and cycling disciplines.

In addition to our Gold, Silver and Bronze packages, we also offer standalone training and skills sessions, this also includes Junior Development Programs with some scholarship based funding incentives.
