When every second counts you need the 2018 Casco Speedster. The success of the Casco in Track Cycling speaks for itself, Casco have now applied the same Olympic and World Championships winning principles to the Casco Speedster helmet for endurance events.

Casco's designers have not only been able to provide cyclists with superior protection, they have also reached new levels in technological development for cycling helmets following in-depth studies at Audi's wind tunnel facilities in Germany.

Just like in a Time Trial, Road Cycling events are won by thousandths of seconds so the importance of aerodynamics can not be underestimated, however in the past Time Trial helmets have followed the cone-shaped design principles and have been unsuitable for Road events.

As a consequence Casco have developed the Casco Speedster a helmet for Road Cycling events such as the Tour de France that provides cyclists with the same aerodynamic benefits as a Time Trial helmet, without sacrificing on ventilation or posture.

During the testing process Casco used the posture and position of a variety of riders, from Olympic Champions to amateur competitors and mapped these variables against optimum aerodynamic efficiency. The results were analysed and the conclusion heralded the introduction of the Casco Speedster that enables cyclists to maintain the most efficient aerodynamic profile regardless of the posture or position they adopt whilst cycling.

The results of Casco's wind tunnel testing of the Casco Speedster produced dramatically improved aerodynamics for Road Cycling in comparison to the traditional Road helmets and when races are won and lost by seconds such improvements are crucial to your cycling.

Results from Thermal testing at Audi's new climatic wind tunnel allowed Casco to optimise the ventilation systems of the helmet ensuring that riders do not overheat whilst using the helmet despite the improved aerodynamic profile, so even on the hottest days of summer you will not over-heat in the tough mountain climbs of the Alps and Pyrennes.

Drawn-out helmet shapes are designed to achieve very strong aerodynamic performance in a predetermined position (ideal line). Adaptive CASCO Aerodynamics are designed to produce outstanding aerodynamics in the face of real competition conditions, where body posture and head position must change as the athlete battles. This characteristic promotes effective mobilisation of the body˜s reserves without losing the benefits of aerodynamics.

Removeable patented visor prevents swirling air around earpieces and unimpeded field of vision, even in deepest position. The visor is also completely mirrored/tinted to act as a replacement for sunglasses and protect your vision from ultra-violet sunlight with UV400 protection, camera flash and other sudden changes in light. The Anti-Fog, Anti-Glare technology also aids in preventing any disturbance to vision. Another advantage is that the mirror tint of the visor means your competitors can not see your eyes which helps you to keep that poker face and disguise any clues as to what tactics you are about to unleash.

This helmet is not supplied with the Casco Speedmask as standard, to add the Casco SpeedMask in Mirror/Tint, Clear, Orange or Vautron please select the Visor from the menu next to the size and colour options.

The Casco Speedster follows the same award winning construction process that the level Casco Speed Airo uses, however the Casco Speedster is lower in cost because it does not include the protective case for storage/transport that comes with the Casco Speed Airo. The Casco Speedster has the same aerodynamic qualities as the Casco Speed Airo, however it does not have the same amount of ventilation as the Casco Speed Airo as it features the standard Casco patented air guidance system, whereas the Casco Speed Airo features the AIRFit system.

In summary the Casco Speedster has less ventilation, whereas the Casco Speed Airo has the AIRfit system, more ventilation and a protective case for storage/transport.

Casco Speedster

This helmet has a visor that can slide forward making it possible to mount with eye glasses with no issues. Further my glasses did not steam up on long workouts or racing. Lots of air flow through the helmet. Highly recommend with percription eyewear usage.

Good helmet at a good price
The Speedster is a very nice, comfortable and well fitting helmet. Using it on the road it has plenty of ventilation and it feels good riding on the track, with less drag than other road helmets I've tried. It doesn't feel as light and airy as something like the Giro Atmos (allbeit at about half the cost), but it still feels light when being worn and feels better going at speed.

It doesn't have quite the same level of build quality as the Casco Warp, but it is still very good. Looks wise I'd say its better looking than other semi-aero helmets on the market.

The adjusting dial at the back is on a par with Giro's Roc Loc system and the fit overall is very good, though it could do with a few more pads in my opinion.

The service from Velodrome shop has been great, ordered late on a Thursday, dispatched Friday and arrived Saturday AM. Price is obviously great, £30 less than anywhere else online which speaks for itself. I emailed to check stock before ordering and communication was excellent. I'd happily order again.
